Anastasia (b. 1991, Italy) is a Russian movement artist with over two decades of experience as a principal contemporary dancer, performing in renowned theaters around the world. After relocating from Paris to Mexico in 2020, she expanded her creative practice to include painting, merging the expressive language of dance with visual arts.

Movement is at the core of Anastasia's artistic practice, serving as both inspiration and subject matter. Her work, deeply influenced by themes of infinity and consciousness, is a testament to the exploration of movement. Dance, a fleeting and transient art form, often goes unrecognised for the complexity and depth it embodies. Through her work, Shivrina creates a platform that celebrates the ephemeral beauty of dance, offering it a space for appreciation beyond the moment in which it occurs. Her art becomes a paradox - capturing the ethereal essence of movement while grounding it in the permanence of visual form. It is an ode to dance, a tribute that bridges two seemingly separate worlds: the ephemeral and the lasting. By capturing the fluidity and complexity of dance, Shivrina’s work reflects the body’s innate capacity for expression, movement, and emotion. The compositions she creates - whether in paint, form, or space - echo the structure and rhythm of choreography, while channeling the geometric rigor of Suprematism and the emotive, freeform nature of Abstract Expressionism. Through her artistic practice, Shivrina aims to remind viewers of the beauty of movement and the power of the body as an expressive, visual medium. Her work stands as a reminder that movement, even in its transience, leaves a lasting imprint on our perception, our memory, and our physical selves. Ultimately, it moves us.

Anastasia is currently based between Mexico City and Berlin.
